Very useful information and not much different from when I bought a camera a couple of years ago. At that time I purchased a Sony super stead shot 5.1 mega pixel. I love photogaphy but would rather take a class before I buy a more advanced camera than a point and shoot. My son really wants to take some photography classes so this will help me guide him.

Peter, great article and thanks for the website link. My digital camera of 7 years has finally bit the dust, so I'm in the market for a new one and have been trying to sort out all the choices.

I'd love a DSLR, but I'm afraid they are out of my price range, so I'll have to get another point-n-shoot, and want to make sure I get the best I can.

Great article. Very well put, not many people know what they are looking for when they are purchasing a digital camera. Size does not always matter when it comes to Megapixels.
